A two-day online international conference entitled ‘Teaching-learning in the time of pandemic: role of online learning’ was organized by Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University, Guwahati, Assam, India in collaboration with the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) from April 21-22, 2020. More than seven hundred participants from various countries including USA, China, Russia, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan, attended the conference. A total of 125 research papers were presented. Dr. Ishrat Aziz (Lecturer, Department of Biotechnology, Virtual University of Pakistan) represented Virtual University of Pakistan and delivered an oral presentation entitled “Work from home: East vs. West”. The paper discussed the issues faced by women in the current COVID-19 pandemic regarding maintenance of job productivity at home and involved a comparison between working women in the developed and developing countries.
