Universitas Terbuka, Indonesia Celebrates Its 37th Anniversary

On 4 September 2021, Universitas Terbuka (UT) turns 37 years old. Bringing up the theme of “Building Human Resources of Excellence through Digital Learning Ecosystem,” a series of activities that welcome the Dies Natalis have been taking place since the month of June and it will reach its peak on 4 September 2021. Some of the activities of the Dies Natalis include the launching of the book on UT’s 37 years, Webinars, Seminars, National and International Conferences, Meeting with Public Figures, Breaking MURI Record, Article Writings and Performance in National Mass Media and a number of contests, such as vlog creativity, lawn tennis, singing and many others. The participants of all the activities and contests consist of UT’s employees who work at UT’s head office, the Distance Learning Education Units or UPBJJ-UT, students, and public in general.

The opening of the Dies Natalis was done simultaneously with the UT’s National Scientific Discussions, Sports and Arts Week or Disporseni Nasional UT 2021 which was officiated by the Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI) H. Bambang Soesatyo, S.E., M.B.A. on 24 June 2021. UT grants scholarships for the blind students, done symbolically by the Chairman of MPR RI, H. Bambang Soesatyo, S.E., M.B.A., accompanied by UT’s Rector, Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph,D.

The contests and other activities in light of this year’s anniversary or Dies Natalis are performed online and for other activities that need to be done offline, strict health protocols are carried out as the Covid-19 pandemic is still not over yet.
