Syeda Madeeha Bokhari, Registrar, International Open University

Over 440 students from 57 different countries graduated in the 9th Convocation Ceremony of the International Open University (IOU) on Saturday, 7 January 2023. The graduates completed bachelor’s, master’s, associate degrees, diplomas and certificates in a variety of disciplines including Islamic Studies, Psychology, Arabic, Education, Information Technology, Business Administration and Islamic Economics, Banking, and Finance.

The ceremony was held online where the graduates, their family and friends, current students, academic faculty, administrative staff members of the university and distinguished guests attended to celebrate with much enthusiasm and delight.

The program highlights included speeches from the Chancellor of the International Open University (IOU) Dr. Bilal Philips, the Vice Chancellor Dr. Cherno Omar Barry, Guest of Honor Dr. Muhammad Salah, and the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics Dr. Muhammad Ahsan. The graduates enjoyed and shared best wishes with one another during the live event as their names were announced during the degree conferment segment. Enthusiastic graduates’ testimonials touched the hearts of the audience. The valedictorian Ms. Kafayat Anuoluwapo Azeez captivated the guests with her insightful speech. The ceremony came to an end with a Vote of Thanks from the host, Ms. Syeda Madeeha Bokhari, Registrar of the International Open University (IOU).
